Gerald graduted Sacramento State University in 1965. He served as a deputy probation officer for Sacramento County for 14 years. It was during his time at the Department of Probation that he developed an intense interest in family counseling and saw first-hand the importance of a father figure in a child's life. The lack of a father figure in the family was a common occurance for youths who were in trouble as juveniles. Gerald enrolled in law school to pursue his dream of being an attorney. With bar card in hand, Gerald opened up shop in 1979, and since that time has focused his practice on the areas of criminal defense and family law. In 2001, following the old adage of "see a need and fill it" he decided to practice solely in the area of family law and specifically limiting his practice to representing fathers in their family law matters. Attorney Singer has made a lifelong commiment to giving back to the community. He is a 44 year member of the Breakfast Optomist Club of Sacramento. The Optomist's motto is "Friend of the Youth." The Optomist Club sponors high-school all-star games in the area and other youth related activities. THe Breakfast Optomist Club made Distinguished Status in each of the three years he served as President of the Club. Gerald is a true Optomist. As a member of the Ben Ali Shriner's Clown Unit Attorney Singer dresses up as his alter ego "Birdseed the Clown" and makes his rounds at the Childrens Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Adoption Day in Sacramento County, Sacramento Jazz Jubilee and countless parades. Gerald is a long standing supporter of CSUS sports programs. He can be seen at football, basketball, volleyball games and tennis matches. CSUS football fans also know him as "Chief Holy Cow!!" Go Hornets! He and his wife, of 39 years, are the parents of six children and grandparents to nine and recently great-grandparents to two.

Elias Guzman Phone: 866-986-7880 Contact Elias Guzman Education McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, Sacramento, California University of Southern California Languages Spanish Elias is a Senior Associate of the firm and his practice area includes all areas of family law, including custody, support, property, restraining orders, and alternative dispute resolution. He has extensive trial and discovery experience and has appeared before judges in excess of one hundred times in law motion calendar. Elias Guzman was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from University of Southern California (USC) in 1995 with a degree in Philosophy. After working as a litigation paralegal for a number of years he moved to Sacramento to attend McGeorge School of Law and graduated in 2004. During his studies, he continued to work full time and was the president of the Latino Law Student Association. Elias became a member of the bar in June of 2005 and since his membership he makes time to give back to the community by serving as a Board Member of the non-profit Healthy Marriage Project of Sacramento, where he currently serves as the chair of Hispanic Marriage Day committee. He previously served as a board member of the Public Law Section Executive Committee of the State Bar. Married to his wife, Mari, Elias is the proud father of two children. Most weekends he can be found rooting on the Trojans and spending quality time with his family.
